Can Yahoo legally suspend your account and then refuse to give you a reason why they have done it?

I see their side. Its their site so I guess they can do as they wish. But is it not the same as being charged for an offense, being found guilty, sentenced without even knowing what you have done wrong ? An appeal is useless as all one gets is a stereo type answer.|||You must not have read the rules you signed up by ticking the box when you joined. The only thing you did not agree to was being hung from the gallows. Ok that's an exaggeration but they did reserve the right to close your entire account including e-mail without any recourse. That's why many of us have a completely separate account for important E-mails. Just in case.|||You must be kidding. There are no laws that give rights to people to allow a free email or yahoo account. They can remove anyones account as they wish. They can even disable all accounts held by people with one arm, or of a certain race if they wanted to. This is a free service, you have no rights.|||Private site and their rules. You agreed to abide by them when you joined. You have no recourse|||Sorry, but you agreed to let them do it. Click on the Terms of Service link at the bottom of the page, scroll through it and read section 15 (if I remember rightly). It's called Termination -- and it explains they can do it, WITHOUT WARNING, at their discretion -- and you agreed to let them. You've signed away any rights you might have had.

As to the appeal, I know of at least 2 people just within the past week that got reinstated after appeal, so don't write it off as useless. It can help.|||Most likely they will give you an answer if you request it because a suspension is suppose to be that a suspension you can get out of it if you explain you side.

Also you basically sign away your rights when you join here they have it written in code that you read the community guidelines and you clicked the box saying you accepted them. Also the internet has very very site laws. Only expect to be brought into court if you copy someones work and that's about it the internet is international so for a law to be broken it has to obey by EVERY SINGLE countries laws which does not simply happen that's why child porn sites exist.|||Sure they can.You already stated it, it's their way or the highway. If we don't like it we can leave.|||Y!/A will give a Reason why they suspended you if you appeal your suspension, the only problem is being able to speak Yahoo, which means, unless you speak big words and confusing sentences you probably won't understand why.

Another thing is,when you sign up with Yahoo, you are giving them the right in some cases to suspend you if they right too, read the gudielines and terms and conditions,it will be in one of those.
